Report: Nunes to defend bantamweight title vs. De Randamie in December
Two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes will defend her bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie at UFC 245 on Dec. 14, sources told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
A verbal agreement has reportedly been reached for a fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It's unknown if Nunes' fifth title defense will be the main or co-main event of UFC 245, currently the final scheduled card of 2019.
Nunes is coming off a dominant July performance against Holly Holm, whom she knocked out with a brutal head kick at UFC 239.
That victory followed Nunes' legacy-defining win over Cris Cyborg in December 2018; the 31-year-old shocked the world by knocking out her fellow Brazilian in the first round to claim the featherweight title and cement her place among MMA's all-time greats.
De Randamie, meanwhile, has established herself as the bantamweight division's No. 1 contender following wins over Raquel Pennington and Aspen Ladd.
The Dutch fighter previously held the 145-pound belt in 2017 but later had it stripped after refusing to face Cyborg, prompting her to move back down to bantamweight.
Jessica Eye versus Viviane Araujo is the only other fight confirmed for the card.
