Frankie Edgar plans on making his bantamweight debut at UFC 244, according to his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, who spoke with ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

By moving to bantamweight, the 37-year-old will be competing in his third weight class. Edgar previously fought in the lightweight division, where he held the title from 2010-12. The Ricardo Almeida BJJ product went 8-4 in the 145-pound division after dropping to featherweight in February 2013.

UFC 244 will take place on Nov. 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Edgar, a Toms River, New Jersey, native competed at the UFC's inaugural New York event in 2016, where he defeated Jeremy Stephens by unanimous decision.
