Lewis defeats Ngannou in lackluster contest

Derrick Lewis defeated Francis Ngannou via unanimous decision in Saturday's co-main event of UFC 226.
In one of the most bizarre fights in recent memory, both contestants took a very passive approach to the bout, throwing punches and kicks sparingly.
Each fighter waited nearly a minute before landing their first blows. Although it initially appeared Ngannou was waiting for the optimal moment to strike, his conservative approach backfired. He showed limited offensive flair throughout the evening.
Shortly after the second round began, Lewis and Ngannou were showered with boos from the T-Mobile Arena crowd, who likely expected a rousing showdown of punches that never materialized.
Lewis improved to 20-5(1) while Ngannou dropped to 11-3.
