Beckham still confident he can get Miami soccer stadium built

Say what you will about David Beckham, but the former Manchester United star is persistent.

Beckham reiterated that he's confident an MLS team will come to Miami, along with a soccer specific state-of-the-art stadium.

“Miami will happen,” he said in an interview with Bloomberg Television’s Mark Crumpton. “I said I want to bring a team here and I will take a team to Miami. There are speed bumps along the way and we've come up against those.”

Those bumps include two rejected proposals to build in a stadium in Miami. 

“I've been very cheeky in a way because I've gone into Miami and I said ‘OK, I wanna build Old Trafford or Wembley stadium next to Buckingham Palace,’” Beckham continued. 

“My dream was to have our stadium on a waterfront. It’s not worked out like that and we have alternative sites. It will happen.”

The positive for Miami soccer fans starving for professional soccer? Beckham won't stop.
