Kevin Durant is venturing into team ownership.

The Brooklyn Nets star has purchased a minority stake in Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union, a source told Mark J. Burns of the Sports Business Daily.

The stake is reportedly worth between 1% and 5% of the franchise.

It's not the first time Durant has looked into acquiring a stake in an MLS club. The 10-time NBA All-Star has twice attempted to purchase a stake in D.C. United, sources told The Athletic's Pablo Maurer in October. Durant was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in nearby Maryland.

The Nets forward also isn't the only NBA star with a stake in an MLS team. Houston Rockets guard James Harden joined the Houston Dynamo's ownership group in July 2019.
