A.J. Burnett is an All-Star for the first time in his 17-year career, and he got the fireworks started in his own way.

In the Pittsburgh Pirates' thrilling 14-inning win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, it was the starting pitcher who got the offense going.

In the fifth inning, down 3-0, Burnett belted a John Lackey 0-2 fastball over the left field fence to put his club on the board.

The solo home run was Burnett's first home run since 2005, back when he was a strapping 28-year-old with the Florida Marlins.
