Report: Brewers call up Misiorowski, expected to start Thursday
The Milwaukee Brewers are promoting right-handed pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
He's expected to start Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Misiorowski, 23, is the 68th-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline and one of the hardest throwers in the minor leagues. His fastball frequently reaches triple digits and has touched 103 mph this season.
Milwaukee drafted Misiorowski in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
The 6-foot-7 fireballer racked up 80 strikeouts in 63 1/3 innings pitched at Triple-A Nashville this season. He's recorded a career 12.3 K/9 in the minor leagues but has never thrown 100 innings in a campaign.
The Brewers have a need in the rotation with Nestor Cortes and Brandon Woodruff still on the injured list.
