Anthopoulos: Snitker will manage Braves for as long as he wants
Atlanta Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Thursday that manager Brian Snitker deserves the right to decide how long he wants to continue leading the team.
"He's going to be part of this organization," Anthopoulos told Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman of the New York Post. "He's not officially a Braves Hall of Famer, but that's a foregone conclusion. In terms of his future, how many years he wants to do this, all that kind of stuff, that's for him."
Snitker has been with the Braves organization in some capacity since 1977. He's in his 10th season as manager and has led the team to the playoffs in seven straight seasons, including a World Series title in 2021.
"I love being able to work with him," Anthopoulos said. "I'm grateful that he's been in this organization. Things like how long he wants to do it, all that kind of stuff, he's earned that right for that to be his choice and so on. But, I can't speak enough to the partnership that we've had and the success that we've had."
Snitker is in the final year of a contract extension he signed in 2023.
