A's sign Kotsay to 3-year extension
The Athletics and manager Mark Kotsay agreed to a three-year extension with a team option for the 2029 season, the team announced Monday.
Kotsay is entering his fourth campaign as the club's manager. He owns a 179-307 record. The Athletics are coming off their best season under Kotsay's leadership after posting a 69-93 record in 2024.
The franchise showed signs of growth after the All-Star break last season, enjoying a respectable 32-32 mark over the final 64 games.
Kotsay was entering the final year of his contract after the Athletics exercised a club option for the 2025 season in November 2023.
The Athletics are set to play home games at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento this season as the franchise awaits the completion of its new stadium in Las Vegas.
