Orioles, Laureano agree to 1-year, $4M deal
The Baltimore Orioles signed outfielder Ramón Laureano to a one-year, $4-million contract, the club announced Tuesday.
The deal includes a club option for 2026 worth $6.5 million, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
Laureano hit .259/.311/.437 with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs in 98 games split between the Cleveland Guardians and Atlanta Braves in 2024.
He struggled mightily in 31 games with Cleveland before being released. Laureano joined the Braves on a minor-league deal and fared much better, impressing with an .832 OPS (128 OPS+) in 226 plate appearances.
The 30-year-old, now entering his eighth MLB season, still has one of baseball's strongest arms. He ranked in the 100th percentile in arm value and 89th percentile in arm strength last season.
Laureano profiles as a bench bat for the Orioles, whose starting outfield appears set with Colton Cowser, Tyler O'Neill, and Cedric Mullins.
The righty owns a .749 OPS (108 OPS+) for his career.
