The Cincinnati Reds and veteran left-hander Wade Miley agreed to a minor-league contract, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Miley is recovering from Tommy John surgery and is expected to be healthy enough to return to the mound by the end of May, per Wittenmyer.

The 38-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. Miley enjoyed a strong 2023 campaign, posting a 9-4 record with a 3.14 ERA over 23 starts.

The southpaw returns for a second stint in Cincinnati after spending 2020 and 2021 with the Reds.

Miley will provide new Reds manager Terry Francona another proven starting pitching option behind Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo, Brady Singer, Andrew Abbott, and Nick Martinez.

Cincinnati also signed right-hander Ian Gibaut, who was non-tendered by the club in November, to a minor-league contract, sources told Robert Murray of FanSided. The 31-year-old spent the last three seasons with the Reds but made only two appearances in 2024 because of a forearm strain.
