Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is thrilled to have finally reached the World Series.

"This is a place that I've dreamt of playing all of my life," Ohtani told Fox Sports through translator Will Ireton. "To be able to finally come to this stage, be able to play, and hopefully win it is my next goal."

Ohtani found his postseason stride against the New York Mets after being held relatively quiet during the NLDS.

The soon-to-be NL MVP went deep twice and drove in six runs during the NLCS. He also walked nine times from the leadoff spot, raising his postseason on-base percentage to an impressive .434.

"There are no easy games we played this postseason. We really played well as a team, and I'm glad we were able to pull through," Ohtani said.

He added, "The Yankees are a really good team with a lot of good players and really good coaches, and I'm really looking forward to playing against them."

Ohtani hit an incredible 54 home runs and stole 59 bases during his first season with the Dodgers. He led the National League in OPS (1.036) and OPS+ (190), and he paced all of MLB in total bases (411).

Game 1 of the World Series is set for Friday in Los Angeles.
