Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. is hoping to improve on an incredible 2023 season that saw him win NL MVP.

"I’m trying to be better than last year," Acuña told the New York Post's Jon Heyman.

Acuña became the first player in MLB history to hit at least 40 home runs and steal at least 70 bases in a single season last year. He isn't ruling out surpassing those numbers in 2024.

"I don't know, but everything is possible," Acuña said. "When I play, I don't think (about it) too much. And when the season's over, I'll see what I did."

The 26-year-old led all position players in fWAR (8.3) and runs scored (149) while finishing in the top 10 in home runs (41), RBIs (106), and OPS (1.012) last season.

Acuña has been sidelined this spring with irritation in his right meniscus but is expected to be ready when the Braves open the regular season against the Philadelphia Phillies on March 28.
