DeGrom: My elbow ligament 'is perfectly fine'
Jacob deGrom is healthy, according to Jacob deGrom.
The New York Mets ace made that clear to reporters at Marlins Park on Thursday. In a press conference that lasted barely 20 seconds, deGrom attempted to clarify his status following rampant speculation about his right elbow's health.
"I know what was said, but my ligament is perfectly fine. I have been throwing, and I wouldn't be throwing if I had a compromised ligament," deGrom said before returning to the clubhouse without taking questions.

DeGrom was in the midst of a historic season before forearm tightness sent him to the injured list in mid-July. It was initially expected to be a brief IL stint, but setbacks pushed deGrom's potential return into September. An MRI taken in late August came back clean.
Mets president Sandy Alderson revealed Tuesday that the two-time Cy Young Award winner suffered a sprain/tear of his ulnar collateral ligament, but he added the issue "resolved itself." Alderson didn't provide a firm timetable for deGrom's return.
DeGrom has posted a 1.08 ERA, 0.55 WHIP, and 146 strikeouts with just 11 walks over 15 starts this season.
