Marwin Gonzalez is back with the Houston Astros.

The Astros signed Gonzalez to a minor-league deal, and he'll report to their spring training complex in West Palm Beach, the team announced Friday.

The utility player spent the majority of this season with the Boston Red Sox until they designated him for assignment earlier in August. He had a .202 average to go with two home runs and 22 RBI in 77 games with the team.

Gonzalez, a veteran of 10 MLB seasons, spent the first seven years of his career with the Astros from 2012 to 2018. He was with the Minnesota Twins for two seasons before joining the Red Sox this year.

The versatile 32-year-old has made starts at first base, second base, third base, shortstop, and the outfield throughout his career. He has a career slash line of .256/.314/.403 with 98 home runs and 389 RBI in 1,039 games.
