Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is still without a firm timetable to return from his strained quad, and manager Dusty Baker isn't expecting the All-Star back anytime soon.

"It will be a while," Baker said Friday, according to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle.

Houston placed Bregman on the 10-day injured list Thursday, one day after he suffered the strain while running the bases. The 27-year-old is hitting .275/.359/.428 with seven homers and 34 RBIs across 262 plate appearances this season.

Switch-hitting infielder Abraham Toro will likely take over at the hot corner while Bregman is sidelined. Toro, who owns a 1.078 OPS at Triple-A Sugar Land, has appeared in seven games for the Astros this year.
