San Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers left Tuesday's game against the Colorado Rockies in the third inning after testing positive for COVID-19, Padres manager Jayce Tingler announced after the game, according to Dennis Lin of The Athletic.

First baseman Eric Hosmer also left the contest due to contact tracing protocols, Acee notes.

The announcement comes hours after the Padres placed star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. on the IL due to his own positive test. Jurickson Profar and Jorge Mateo are out because they were in close contact with Tatis.

Both Tatis and Myers are asymptomatic, but it's unclear how much time they or those in contact tracing protocols will miss.

The Padres and Rockies are scheduled to play a doubleheader Wednesday to make up for the loss of Monday's game due to weather conditions.
