Jacob deGrom was removed from Sunday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks with right side tightness, the team announced.

The New York Mets right-hander will have an MRI, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

DeGrom called catcher James McCann to the mound after he appeared to hurt himself while throwing warmup pitches before the sixth inning.

The 32-year-old allowed one earned run on one hit, walked three, and struck out six across five innings before departing.

DeGrom missed his last start with right lat inflammation.
