The Detroit Tigers put first baseman/designated hitter Miguel Cabrera on the 10-day injured list with a left biceps strain, the club announced Sunday.

The 11-time All-Star and two-time AL MVP has three hits, including a home run, in seven games for the Tigers this season. He's only 12 round-trippers short of the 500-homer club. However, the 38-year-old only went deep 41 times over the last four years heading into 2021.

Cabrera played in just 38 games in 2018 due to a ruptured left biceps tendon.

Detroit selected the contract of infielder Renato Nunez to replace Cabrera on the active major-league roster.

The Tigers also transferred right-hander Julio Teheran to the 60-day IL due to a shoulder injury.
