The Kansas City Royals signed right-handed reliever Brad Brach to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training, the club announced Monday.

Brach was released by the New York Mets last week after the team exercised his $2.075-million option for 2021 in October.

The 34-year-old posted a 5.84 ERA and 1.78 WHIP in 12 1/3 innings for the Mets in 2020. His best season came in 2016 when he authored a 10-4 record, 2.05 ERA, and 1.04 WHIP in 79 innings and earned an All-Star nod as a member of the Baltimore Orioles.

He's the latest veteran hurler to join the Royals on a minor-league deal after the team signed fellow right-hander Wade Davis in January.
