The Toronto Blue Jays signed reliever A.J. Cole to a minor-league contract, the team announced Friday.

Cole, whom the Blue Jays non-tendered in early December, can earn up to $1 million in 2021 with $200,000 in performance incentives if he makes the major-league roster, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports.

The right-hander posted a 3.09 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings coming out of Toronto's bullpen last season.

Cole has pitched for the Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, and Washington Nationals during a six-year career.
