Los Angeles Dodgers rookie right-hander Tony Gonsolin will start Game 2 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, manager Dave Roberts said, according to Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times.
Gonsolin, 26, will make his second career postseason start after taking a loss in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series against the Atlanta Braves. He's allowed seven runs on five hits and six walks over 6 1/3 innings while striking out eight in two playoff appearances - the other being a relief appearance in Game 7 of the NLCS.
The 2016 ninth-round pick posted a 2.31 ERA and 2.29 FIP over 46 2/3 innings during the regular season.
Walker Buehler will start Game 3 for the Dodgers after handling duties in Game 6 of the NLCS on Saturday.
