Milwaukee Brewers reliever Devin Williams has been left off the roster for their wild-card series against the top-seeded Los Angeles Dodgers, the team announced Wednesday.
The National League Rookie of the Year favorite said he experienced tightness and discomfort in his shoulder after his last outing in St. Louis, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"I think if we make it to the next round, I should be back by then," Williams said, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
Williams posted a microscopic 0.33 ERA with 17.7 strikeouts per nine innings for the Brewers across 22 appearances during the regular season.
