Red Sox-Yankees delayed by intruder at Fenway Park
Can 2020 get any weirder?
Sunday's game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees was delayed during the eighth inning after an intruder somehow found his way into Fenway Park.
After hurdling around camera wells above the outfield, yelling at players, and throwing things onto the field, security and police eventually escorted the fan out.
The intruder apparently climbed up the Green Monster from the outside of the stadium and said he was Spider-Man before telling people he intended to hold the game up for as long as possible, according to Guerin Austin of NESN.
"I kind of just saw him hop a wall and start yelling," Michael Chavis, who hit a pair of homers in the win, told Chad Jennings of The Athletic. "Beyond that, I don't know if he had superpowers or what, but he appeared, I can tell you that. It was kind of scary there for a moment."
