New York Yankees left-hander Aroldis Chapman has been cleared to return to the team from the COVID-19 injured list, manager Aaron Boone told reporters Friday.

The All-Star closer tested negative twice, reports Jon Heyman of MLB Network. He was originally put on the IL on July 11.

Lefty Zack Britton filled in for Chapman while the 32-year-old Cuban was recovering. Britton converted both of his two save opportunities.

Chapman, who's a six-time All-Star, posted a 2.21 ERA with 37 saves for the Yankees in 2019.
