A couple of teams are showing interest in the best remaining free agent with spring training around the corner.

The San Francisco Giants have interest in Yasiel Puig, according to MLB insider Robert Murray. Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi, who previously served as general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is familiar with Puig.

The Tampa Bay Rays are also showing some interest in the outfielder, though the seriousness of their pursuit is unclear, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

The 29-year-old split the 2019 season between the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians. Over 149 games, the former All-Star hit .267/.327/.458 with 24 homers and 19 steals. He's spent six of his seven big-league seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Giants have had a relatively quiet winter, agreeing to major-league deals with Wilmer Flores, Kevin Gausman, and Drew Smyly. Outfielders expected to be carried by the team into 2020 include Mike Yastrzemski, Steven Duggar, Alex Dickerson, Austin Slater, and Jaylin Davis.

Meanwhile, the Rays have created a bit of a logjam in their outfield this offseason. Austin Meadows, Kevin Kiermaier, and Joey Wendle will all be vying for playing time alongside new acquisitions Yoshi Tsutsugo, Hunter Renfroe, and Jose Martinez. Wendle and Tsutsugo could see time in the infield, though.
