Outfielder Joc Pederson lost his arbitration hearing against the Los Angeles Dodgers and will earn $7.75 million in 2020, a source told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Pederson had requested a salary of $9.5 million.

Pederson's arbitration hearing was contested against the Dodgers despite the fact that he's likely to be traded. On Tuesday, the Dodgers reportedly agreed to send Pederson to the Los Angeles Angels in a multi-player trade that has yet to be completed.

That deal has been delayed thanks to the complications surrounding the Dodgers' blockbuster acquisition of Mookie Betts and David Price from the Boston Red Sox in a three-team trade that also includes the Minnesota Twins. Boston's apparent issues with the medical review of pitcher Brusdar Graterol - who the team is supposed to acquire from Minnesota - has put the deal in doubt, and the Red Sox are reportedly trying to rework it.

The Angels' acquisition of Pederson will only be finalized once the three-team Betts trade is completed in some form, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. If that deal falls through, the Angels-Dodgers trade would also not be completed.

Pederson's salary will remain the same no matter which team he plays for this year.

The 27-year-old slashed .249/.339/.538 with 36 home runs and 74 RBIs over 149 games for the Dodgers last season. He's scheduled to reach free agency following the 2020 campaign.

Pederson's loss in arbitration means that players are now 0-for-3 in arbitration hearings so far this offseason. Atlanta Braves pitcher Shane Greene and Twins right-hander Jose Berrios both lost their hearings this week.
