The San Francisco Giants are bringing back a key piece from their 2012 and 2014 World Series championship teams, as they announced the signing of outfielder Hunter Pence on Friday.
Pence's contract is for one year and $3 million, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
The 36-year-old reportedly rejected offers from the San Diego Padres and Houston Astros, according to Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports.
Pence enjoyed a resurgent campaign with the Texas Rangers last year, hitting .297/.358/.552 with 18 homers over 83 games before missing the second half of the season with a back injury.
The four-time All-Star owns a .797 OPS over 13 big-league seasons, and he memorably went 22-for-66 with 12 runs scored and eight RBIs in the 2014 postseason.
