The Toronto Blue Jays and Cincinnati Reds are interested in free-agent utility man Brock Holt, reports Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com.

Holt's spent the majority of his eight-year career with the Boston Red Sox. However, it's unlikely he'll return after the club added Jose Peraza through free agency, according to Cotillo.

The 31-year-old played all over the field defensively in 2019, with the majority of his starts coming at second base. The one-time All-Star also posted a .771 OPS with 19 extra-base hits in 87 contests for the Red Sox.

The Blue Jays and Reds have had productive offseasons. Toronto made multiple additions to bolster its starting rotation, including the signing of All-Star lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu. Cincinnati added slugger Mike Moustakas, starting pitcher Wade Miley, and Japanese outfielder Shogo Akiyama.
