New York Yankees fans are doing everything in their power to get the team's front office to sign Gerrit Cole.

On Friday, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman rappelled down 22 stories of the Landmark Building in Stamford, Connecticut as part of an annual fundraising endeavor he participates in each year.

During his trip down the side of the building, Cashman said around the 15th floor someone posted a large piece of paper in a window that read "Please sign Gerrit Cole," according to Newsday's Tim Healey.

Following his rappelling adventure, Cashman provided updates on the Yankees' pursuit of Cole and fellow free-agent starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg. The club met with both hurlers earlier this week.

"They would fit in anybody's clubhouse in a real positive way," said Cashman, according to YES Network. "We're open for business when we find mutual common ground with clubs or players and their representatives. We're ready to rock and roll at any time."

The Yankees are reportedly prioritizing adding Cole to their starting rotation, and the team's owners have already given the front office the go-ahead to make him a record-setting offer.
