The Oakland Athletics are in agreement with left-handed reliever Jake Diekman on a two-year contract plus a club option for a third season in 2022, the team announced Tuesday.

Diekman is guaranteed $7.5 million over the course of the deal, Jeff Passan of ESPN reports.

The A's acquired the 32-year-old from the Kansas City Royals before July's trade deadline this past season. In 28 appearances, he posted a 4.43 ERA with a 1.57 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings.

The A's declined a mutual option for 2020 before agreeing to a new deal with Diekman on Tuesday.
