The Philadelphia Phillies have signed second baseman Josh Harrison to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training, the team announced Tuesday.

Harrison, 32, was a two-time All-Star during his eight-year stint with the Pittsburgh Pirates, hitting .277 with a .714 OPS, 54 home runs, 154 doubles, and 75 stolen bases.

The Detroit Tigers released the veteran infielder in August after he hit .175/.218/.263 in 36 games. A hamstring injury sidelined him for much of the season before the Tigers cut ties following his reinstatement from the 60-day IL.

Despite his offensive struggles, Harrison was solid in the field. He committed no errors in 305 2/3 innings at the keystone in 2019.
