It wasn't the start the Tampa Bay Rays were hoping for.

Right-hander Tyler Glasnow was relieved from Game 5 of the ALDS with two outs in the third inning after allowing four runs on five hits to the Houston Astros.

All the damage was done in the first when Glasnow surrendered a hit to each of the first four Astros he faced.

The 26-year-old stabilized to retire seven consecutive Astros after the fourth run crossed the plate in the opening frame. In two ALDS starts, Glasnow has allowed six earned runs on nine hits in seven innings (7.71 ERA).

With lefty hitter Yordan Alvarez coming to the plate, southpaw Blake Snell replaced Glasnow on the mound with the Astros leading 4-1. Alvarez flew out to end the inning.

The eventual winner of the game will go on to face the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series. Game 1 is scheduled for Saturday.
