Chapman hurt pitching hand during Yankees' celebration

The injury bug nearly bit the New York Yankees once again thanks to a rowdy locker-room celebration following their three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins.

Closer Aroldis Chapman was seen with his left hand heavily bandaged after a run-in with a bottle.

"I was just celebrating and everyone was jumping around," Chapman told Dan Martin of the New York Post. "I got hit with a bottle, but it’s fine."

General manager Brian Cashman, who's work acquiring depth allowed the team to survive a multitude of injuries to star players throughout the regular season, was relieved when he learned Chapman wasn't seriously injured.

"He had a huge smile on his face, so I think that was a good sign," he said.

Chapman recorded the final five outs of Monday's 5-1 victory, striking out Nelson Cruz to end the game.

The Yankees will move on to the American League Championship Series against either the Houston Astros or Tampa Bay Rays.
