Although the Washington Nationals have their backs against the wall after losing Game 3 of the National League Division Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team isn't panicking heading into a possible elimination game.

With ace right-hander Max Scherzer scheduled to start Game 4 in Washington on Monday, the Nationals are confident they can push the series to a fifth game.

"We’re weirdly comfortable right now," closer Sean Doolittle said, according to The Athletic's Rustin Dood. "Even though our backs are up against the wall, we got Max going tomorrow and Stras going after him. We kind of feel like we’ve played a lot of must-win games here in the last couple months of the season. We’ve had our backs against the wall before."

Washington was stunned by the Dodgers on Sunday. Los Angeles scored seven runs in the sixth inning for a come-from-behind 10-4 victory. Six of the Dodgers' runs came against left-hander Patrick Corbin, who entered as a reliever on short rest after starting Game 1 on Thursday.

The Nationals have a history of losing in the division series and have failed to advance past this spot since moving to Washington from Montreal.

They're going to do everything they can to extend their season, according to manager Dave Martinez, who hasn't shied away from using starters in relief - Corbin, Scherzer, and Stephen Strasburg - throughout the playoffs.

In an elimination game, it might be more of the same.

"All hands on deck," Martinez said, according to MLB.com's Jamal Collier. "We are going to come out, we're going to fight and those guys know what we're playing for. We want to go to L.A. That's all this means. I told them that's all this means, we would have to go to L.A. again."
