Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and reigning National League MVP Christian Yelich left Tuesday's game against the Miami Marlins in the first inning after fouling a ball off his right knee.

Yelich was down and in apparent pain for several minutes while being tended to by Brewers trainers. He eventually left the field under his own power.

Trent Grisham entered the game to complete Yelich's at-bat before taking over in right field.

Yelich, who missed some time in August because of a back issue, is hitting .330/.430/.672 with 44 homers, 30 steals, 97 RBIs, and an NL-best 7.7 WAR in 2019. The 27-year-old is one of two players to post a 30-30 campaign this year and became just the 10th individual player in MLB history to go 40-30 this past weekend.
