MLB unveils 2020 schedule with 30-team Opening Day set for March 26

Major League Baseball has announced the schedule for the 2020 season, which will officially begin with all 30 teams playing Thursday, March 26. The Opening Day calendar will be as follows:

MLB Communications cataloged some noteworthy contests on next season's calendar, including the first game at the Texas Rangers' new stadium - Globe Life Field - scheduled for March 31 against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels.

Additionally, after Boston Red Sox left-hander David Price ridiculed MLB for this year's light schedule on Jackie Robinson Day, 28 teams will see action on Wednesday, April 15. Only the Seattle Mariners and Washington Nationals will have an off day.

Eric Hosmer returns to Kauffman Stadium as a member of the San Diego Padres during a three-game series July 24-26, his first trip back since helping the Kansas City Royals win the 2015 World Series.

MLB will play its first game in the state of Iowa when the New York Yankees face the Chicago White Sox in the "MLB at Field of Dreams" game August 13, and the Little League Classic gets underway Sunday, August 23 between the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox.
