Joe Maddon has his sights set on the Los Angeles Angels.

Maddon will interview with the Angels this coming week for their vacant managerial position, sources told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. The interview will take place Monday, a source told MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

The Angels are Maddon's preferred landing spot, Rosenthal adds.

Maddon has been linked to the Angels since they fired Brad Ausmus on Sept. 30.

Before managing the Tampa Bay Rays and Chicago Cubs, Maddon spent 30 years in the Angels organization in multiple capacities. He won a World Series ring with the team in 2002 as a bench coach under Mike Scioscia.

Maddon is also drawing reported interest from the San Diego Padres, who fired manager Andy Green on Sept. 21.

The 65-year-old parted ways with the Cubs on Sept. 29 after five seasons in the Windy City. Maddon led them to four postseason appearances, two division titles, and a World Series championship in 2016.
