The Chicago White Sox have agreed to a deal with international free agent Elijah Tatis, the younger brother of San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., according to Enrique Rojas of ESPN.

The 17-year-old Elijah out of the Dominican Republic reportedly signed a $500,000 bonus as part of the deal.

Fernando Jr. memorably signed with the White Sox as an international free agent back in 2015. However, the club traded the young shortstop the following year as part of a package to acquire right-handed starter James Shields.

After breaking camp with the Padres this season, Fernando Jr. has posted a .214/.313/.476 slash line with three home runs and one steal over 12 games.

Fernando Sr., the father of both Fernando Jr. and Elijah, played 11 seasons in MLB, splitting time with the New York Mets, Montreal Expos, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, and Baltimore Orioles.
