Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton and Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts were involved in a collision during Friday's Grapefruit League contest.

Buxton was attempting to get out of a rundown between third and home when he collided with Bogaerts.

Buxton seemed to get the worst of it, as he immediately left the game after being tended to by Minnesota's trainers. He was diagnosed with a right facial contusion and is being listed as day-to-day, according to Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press.

The injury comes in the middle of what's been a phenomenal spring for Buxton, who's looking to rebound from a miserable 2018 campaign. He entered Friday's game slashing .438/.472/.906 with four homers and three steals.

Bogaerts, meanwhile, appeared to be in pain but managed to stay in the game and took his scheduled at-bat the following inning.
