Giants president won't face charges after physical altercation with wife

San Francisco Giants president and chief executive officer Larry Baer won't face charges after a physical altercation with his wife earlier this month was caught on video.

"After a careful review of the relevant evidence, including multiple videos, statements from several witnesses and the parties themselves, the evidence does not support filing criminal charges," Alex Bastian, a spokesperson for the San Francisco district attorney's office, told Evan Sernoffsky of the San Francisco Chronicle.

On March 1, Baer was recorded pulling his wife, Pam, to the ground during an argument in a public area of San Francisco. TMZ then bought and released the brief video, prompting the executive to issue an apology and take a leave of absence from his duties.

The surveillance system of a store captured a second, longer video of the couple arguing for approximately 25 minutes before the physical altercation, Sernoffsky reports. That video hasn't been publicly released, though a source told Sernoffsky its content is partly why the DA declined to press charges.

Additionally, Major League Baseball is aware of the second video and has been trying to acquire it as part of an internal investigation.

Though he won't face charges, MLB can discipline Baer if he's found to have violated the league's domestic violence policy.
