The Kansas City Royals and utility man Chris Owings signed a one-year deal on Wednesday.

The contract is worth $3 million plus incentives, according to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports.

Owings, 27, posted a .206/.272/.302 slash line with four homers and 11 stolen bases over 106 games with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2018. Defensively, he manned second base, third base, and all three outfield positions.

Since 2013, Owings has appeared in 580 games - all with the Diamondbacks - accruing 1.2 WAR, primarily as a shortstop.
