The Houston Astros have agreed to a one-year contract with catcher Robinson Chirinos, pending a physical, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.

The contract is reportedly worth $5.75 million, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

The 34-year-old spent the last six seasons with the Texas Rangers and hit a career-high 18 home runs in 2018. For his career, he's hit .233/.324/.438 with 68 home runs in 462 games.

With Brian McCann and Evan Gattis leaving through free agency, the Astros fill the void with another veteran backstop in Chirinos. He will join Max Stassi as the team's primary options behind the plate barring an additional move.
