The Los Angeles Dodgers called upon their ace as Clayton Kershaw was summoned out of the bullpen to record the final three outs of Game 7 of the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.

The three-time Cy Young winner acted in relief of typical Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen, setting down the final three Brewers hitters to clinch the NL pennant.

Kershaw was tasked with facing Travis Shaw, Jesus Aguilar, and Mike Moustakas in the ninth, and dispatched of the final three hitters in order with two strikeouts and a groundout on 15 pitches.

Saturday's one inning of work was Kershaw's fourth appearance of the 2018 postseason. Over 19 innings, he has allowed five runs on 11 hits and four walks while striking out 16.
