A Boston Red Sox fan died Wednesday night when he was electrocuted by overhead wires as he tried to climb on top of a Metro-North train, according to Bob Fredericks and Danielle Furfaro of the New York Post.

Michael Vigeant, 24, of Hudson, N.H., was on his way home from Wednesday's game between the Red Sox and New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium when he and his brother climbed from inside a train car to the top of the roof. His brother safely returned to the car with the help of train personnel.

Power to the train went down and it was forced to stop. MTA officials say it was stopped for 30-to-40 minutes, but riders report it lasted more than two hours.
