New York Mets third baseman David Wright thinks highly of Tim Tebow.

In a game chock-full of young stars like Bryce Harper, Giancarlo Stanton, and Carlos Correa, Wright, the Mets' injured captain, believes the former NFL quarterback's fame is far greater than baseball's biggest stars.

"In my opinion, not just because of what he does in a baseball uniform," Wright told Matt Ehalt of North Jersey.com, "but I think he's the most famous person to wear a professional baseball uniform now."

Tebow, a former Heisman Trophy winner who announced in 2016 that he would pursue a professional baseball career, has created quite a buzz since joining the Mets.

Ticket sales skyrocketed for both of his minor-league homes last season, and the 30-year-old, who has regular spots on "Good Morning America" and is a published author, has enthralled fans during spring training despite hitting just .071/.133/.071.

Though Mets GM Sandy Alderson believes Tebow will one day play in the majors, he has only produced a career slash line of .226/.309/.347 with eight home runs and 52 RBIs in one minor-league season.
