White Sox sign Miguel Gonzalez to 1-year, $4.75M deal

The Chicago White Sox have signed right-handed starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez to a one-year deal worth $4.75 million.

Gonzalez opened the 2017 season with the White Sox, starting 22 games before being traded to the Texas Rangers in August. Over 156 innings between the two clubs, the 33-year-old veteran posted a 4.62 ERA and 1.42 WHIP.

He joins a rotation including James Shields as well as budding stars Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Carson Fulmer, and Carlos Rodon.

Over six big-league seasons, Gonzalez owns a 3.95 ERA and 4.58 FIP.
