Alex Cora is busy, and it's not just the ALCS and his role as the Houston Astros' bench coach occupying his time.

A day after news came out that Cora was already garnering the Boston Red Sox attention for their managerial vacancy, the New York Mets have jumped into the fray and will reportedly interview Cora on Tuesday:

The Astros are in New York to face the Yankees in Game 3 of the ALCS on Monday, making a meeting with the Mets relatively convenient.

Cora, a former shortstop, last played in the majors in 2011 with the Washington Nationals, but also spent time with both the Red Sox and Mets over parts of 14 major-league seasons.

The Mets need a new manager after Terry Collins resigned following the season before the expiration of his contract.
