Watch: Miggy misses foul ball, squeezes fan's beard instead

MLB / Twitter

Nobody will ever confuse Miguel Cabrera with "Captain Serious."

During the sixth inning of Wednesday night's game in Seattle, the future Hall of Famer chased a foul ball that ended up far out of reach inside the Safeco Field stands. But Cabrera found another use for his glove when he noticed a magnificently facial-haired individual sitting in the front row, so he took the time to playfully squeeze the beard with his glove.

Why did he do this mere moments after a bunt single in his direction had broken up Justin Verlander's perfect game? Well, perhaps he simply wanted to give that fan a story to tell his grandchildren. After all, he certainly seemed to enjoy the attention.

Or, maybe Miggy saw the fan and got pretty jealous, since he's never been able to grow much more than a little soul patch.

Either way, let's hope Cabrera grooms his successor in Detroit to have as much fun playing baseball as he does.
