"There are no sports to bet on," they said.

Well, they were wrong.

Women on the Cactus Tour, a minor-league circuit based in Arizona, will be teeing it up this week at Sundance Golf Club for a three-day event starting Wednesday. And yes, you can bet on it.

Here are the odds:

Player Odds
Sarah Burnham +450
Sophia Popov +450
Haley Moore +550
Savannah Vilaubi +600
Anika Varma +900
Karah Sanford +1100
Britney Yada +1200
Sophie Hausmann +1600
Paige Lee +2800
Reece Feducia +2800
Emily Penttila +2800
Payton Fehringer +3300
Hannah Arnold +4000
Veronica Joels +5000
Brenna Lervick +6600

If you don't recognize a single name on this list, don't worry, you're not alone.

The first three players - Sarah Burnham, Sophia Popov, and Haley Moore - actually play, or have recently played, on the LPGA Tour. This alone puts them head and shoulders above the competition.

The remainder of these women are either Cactus Tour regulars or golfers playing on a variety of minor-league tours in their journey to the LPGA Tour.

The volatility of minor-league golf is off the charts. Any of these players can break 70, but they can also post a score in the 80s with equal regularity. Please take this into consideration before wagering your typical amount during these desperate times.

Pick to win

Haley Moore (+550)

Moore was a standout amateur at the University of Arizona, where she was a member of the national championship-winning team in 2018. After graduating, she won twice on the Cactus Tour in 2019 and was the circuit's money leader despite playing in only eight events. She then went on to earn her LPGA Tour card through qualifying school for the 2020 season. Last week on the Cactus Tour, Moore finished with back-to-back 68s and will hope to carry that form into this week.

If you decide to take the plunge and wager on Cactus Tour golf because there is simply nothing else to do, the event's leaderboard can be found here.
